Our friends at the wonderful Haeckels are using some of our herbs and plants...

To make Smudge Sticks...

Which are "Traditionally used for rituals that cleanse rooms with their smoke, carrying a smudge stick around a room or home is said to purify and bless that space".

Available now at the Haeckels shop.

Another sunny day has made a start
A swift can reel and pivot 'gainst the sky
The distance sees the gulls pursue their art.

An insubstantial cloud through which to fly -
A vapour trail disintegrates again -
A pigeon flutters past, his luck to try.

A "normal" sort of scene, then, in the main
The rooftops are reflecting summer light
A siren wailing past reveals the strain
That waited in obeisance through the night.

Mondo Cane...

On reading magazine today
It's all about the 'dog' -
Receptors in the brain, they say,
Can lead through any fog!

The three dogs that I know of, though,
Could sniff their way around
The darkest night and deepest snow
That really could be found.

But most of all they like to sniff
where fellow dogs have been -
I pull them on, am feeling stiff
And not much part of scene...

Now Zena's dog has found dislike
And tends to bark at me -
I wonder if my name was Mike,
He'd act contrarily?
