August - some rhyming couplets

August! A time to catch the baby snail
Before he has a chance to leave a trail
of holes in leaves, and climbing up the wall,
He makes a getaway before the Fall.
It's June that is the mating time for these -
And broken stems - for them the size of trees
So - what we need - the beak of Mister Thrush
Who with his rhythmic tapping breaks the hush,
So meantime Ben and Keith can take their pick
Removing them from site, complete the Trick.

July's Poem

The Summer Sun is here to stay
(at least another week)
We use the time to work and play-
July is at its peak

The seeds we sowed in Spring have grown-
Their produce we consume;
And roses in their beds have shown
A colourful costume.

The heady scents of summer days
Can percolate the air;
And distance skies are hid by haze
The weather boding fair.

June's Poem

June

The air is cool and into June -
The summer has escaped -
But Mother nature as a boon
The Earth with green has draped.

The nymphs they climb the Iris reeds
Emerge as dragonflies -
The bees and birds in summer meads -
The wind it tests and tries.

Despite the cold the humans sow
Their seeds, encourage flowers -
The Violets and some Pansies glow
And while away the hours.

Open Day

 Thank's to all the people that attended and thank's to the staff and volunteers that made the day so successful, in three hours we raised £650.00 which will be used for us to recover our old polytunnel.
