Community Art Day

Well, the weather turned out nice for our community art day...

There was painting...

Leaf printing...

And mucking about with clay...

There was soup for lunch...

And a good time was had by all...

October lines

The middle of October - after rain;
The leaves are turning colours once again -
And some leaves are even falling off the trees!
But let the warmth of summer hang on, please!
Instead the skies are cloudy, the air cold -
Below the average later, so I'm told.
Some birds have flown away to warmer climes,
The rest anticipating better times.
Inhabitants are mopping up the leaves
And, after coffee, rolling up their sleeves.

A September Poem

September's turning cool; the summers done.
A penny for the time the sun has shone.
The people keep on coming through the gate-
The trees discard their twigs on the estate.
(Some windy weather gusting in the leaves)
The Thanet fields disgorging all their sheaves-
With veg'tables and fruit the season's full,
And Winter 'round the corner - feel the pull.
The temp'rature has dropped within a week-
There's no doubt that the warmth is past its peak
