Mondo Cane...

On reading magazine today
It's all about the 'dog' -
Receptors in the brain, they say,
Can lead through any fog!

The three dogs that I know of, though,
Could sniff their way around
The darkest night and deepest snow
That really could be found.

But most of all they like to sniff
where fellow dogs have been -
I pull them on, am feeling stiff
And not much part of scene...

Now Zena's dog has found dislike
And tends to bark at me -
I wonder if my name was Mike,
He'd act contrarily?

Another fun Open Day...

With lots of welcome visitors...

The return of the world famous Timbola...

Plant Sales Girls...

And the Grumpy Chef...

Then the rain came down...

We all found shelter where we could...

Crowding in the tunnel...

While some were sensible enough to wear a hat...

And through it all the band played on...

Varieties of Summer green
Await the end of May
With Nature clothed, the Summer scene
Refuses to decay.

The clouds are scudding 'cross the sky
And evening stays on late;
Some gulls retreating with a cry -
Direction - homeward state.

Around the garden petals close
Performing lengthy blink;
A cooling breeze; from South it blows -
The sky an orange pink.

April Poem

Pond

There is a spot at the Garden Gate
Of which we're very fond
With life abounding here of late -
It is of course our pond.

This Winter was not cold enough
To cover it with ice;
Disturbed a little by a puff
Of wind - effect is "nice".

Surrounded by a wooden fence
And verge for several plants
To lean and watch when we are tense
And merge into a trance.

And then, behold! It's feeding time
for fish both black and gold
Emerged in Spring from Winter clime
Survived the Winter's cold.

Our recent Open Day was a roaring success with over 600 quid taken on the day.
Big thanks to everyone who came along...

As usual there were refreshments aplenty...

As well as Art Cakes...

Which somebody seemed to enjoy...

We had a slightly scary performance poet...

And we built a lion...

Our next Open Day will be May 24th with lots of plants for sale - details coming soon...
